06 (The Walking Dead premier!)
I’m starting to think that I’m one of the few who were not necessarily surprised by the outcome of tonight’s episode. Sure, I didn’t expect the total count to be what it was, but I had a strong feeling that it would end where it did. Maybe it’s the fact that I’ve had to stew on it for months, and I somehow became desensitized to it, I don’t know… However, I can say that I was surprised at the level of gore that AMC was willing to put out there for cable TV. I guess we’ve reached a point where even TV is fair game for a certain amount of gore. I don’t think it was over the top by any means, while some may disagree. However, I think that it did paint a picture of Neagan that he is a type of villain that we have never seen on this show, and possibly any other show on cable TV.
